Hi I'm looking at getting some new alloys, I have 14" at the mo but want 16" I have been told so many different things some saying I can't have them without modification & others saying theres no problem!
Can any one help me by telling me the true facts on what I need to do & what tyres I need? can I use 45's or do I have to use 40's?
Thanks for your time,
Ben

195/40 will not scrub (guaranteeed!)
mk5 have slightly bigger arches than mk4.
i thot mk5 can take 195/45 on standard height?

right
im running 16's with 195/45/16 and lowered -75mm with no scrubbing at all (only on full lock in reverse) so i wudnt worry about arch clearance!

yes diminishing funds could not quite cover for 40's
and i can't believe the price difference for new tyres for 16" wheels!!
they are pricier than 17's!!
