Deciding on a clutch kit (PD130)

Hi all,

Been trolling through this site for quite a while, never posting anything because modding only starts in June/July
I have a 2007 Polo 1.9 TDI (PD130) thats going in for a major service ( 120 000km - 75 000 miles) in about a weeks time. Its going in for its cambelt change as well as redoing all the syncros in the gearbox ( Still under maintanence plan )

While the box is off I plan to change the clutch, just for safe measure. Currently the car is stock at the moment. Future mods will include PD160 intake, K&N filter, full exhaust and a unichip ( possibly a FMIC later on )
Been looking at a few clutches from http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk and unsure whether to retain a DMF setup or switch to a SMF one.
I'm not going to be going for big power at the moment and the car is a daily driver, sitting in traffic etc, so not really sure if I would like the SMF chatter.

These are the options im after:

1. Sachs 1.9 TDi Dual Mass Flywheel with Sachs SRE Performance Clutch Kit - Organic disk holds up to 488 Nm (360 ft-lbs) Sindered disk holds up to 529 Nm (390 ft·lb) Both the same price.

Any recommendations out there?

Unless you're going to get a hybrid turbo or inject some gas in the future, you are unlikely to have more than 300-320 lbft, so I'd personally get the dual-mass version for comfort.

I have an ecs stage one upgrade clutch and flywheel by sachs, can't complain its a great upgrade (imo) however mine had to be slightly modified to fit - http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=10682-

sooo as far as i can say sachs as a brand are pretty decent, i don't really know too much about it tbch!

@ Josh_PoloGTI - I was thinking along the same lines, keep the DMF setup and just go for something a little higher than standard incase I start modding the car more. Think the sindered disk option is the way to go.

@ Gtimatt - Think Sachs is the way to go, how was yours modified to fit? The clutch kit looks good, unfortunately the torque handling figure is too low for me ( Damn diesel.. lol ) Your car standard or modded?

Think im going to be ordering the kit today, will only be expecting it middle to late next week then since im based in South Africa. 130 Pounds for shipping and handling

the gearbox bell housing had to be ''bodged'' so that it would fit. so the garage kept it an extra day to make sure and touch wood it has al been fine. yeah my old clutch was slipping so i took the opportunity to upgrade, I'm on stage one revo remap, with milltek catback, forge tip and 007p recirc valve
