Hi mate, welcome!
Was the black dash trim bought new? If so, where did you source it? How much was it and do you have a part number?

Piece of p*** mate, it's plug and play. I specced mine with the RCD 510 but i'd contemplate retofitting one if I were you. The only difference will be you'll have 4 speakers instead of 6 (as far as I know).NeilMcConville wrote:I second that! i found the dash trim on fleabay for 99p!
i was only bid,so chuffed with that!
rcd 510 is easy.
sorced from car audio place that had just taken it out of a 61 plate tiguan.
so got led display and dab at great price!
worked trim off with morrisons fuel card
4 torx screws out
unplugged 3 leads
connect them to new unit and slide it in
redo torx screws and snap in trim
switch on and put in code
only thing i cant do is alter brightness.
and dab is crap in norfolk!

I have the RCD 510, the only way I have been able to adjust the brightness is with the control by the steering wheel for the dash lights, and this is only with the lights switched on, also the radio has a light sensor on the front that dims it.
