New (Returning) Member Saying Hi + Mental Block...
Hey guys.
Retutning to this forum after a long abscence with my flash red 6r gti. Looking forward to getting stuck in again.
However i have a mental block when it comes to getting some new wheels...
The plan is to drop down a size to 16" x 7/8, very slight camber in time and coilovers. Im ashamed to say that even being an alloy wheel importer as my job and having 100's of contacts in the business im stumped as to what route to go down. The only wheel that has a slight edge at the moment in the Comp TH Mono in gloss black 16 x 8 et 25 (pic below)
However im very aware that this has been done more than a few times.
Do you guys have any recomendations or know of little gems out there to help? Im open to any opinions. I have even thought about colour options of brown and cream??? (Red is a hard colour to pull of anything but black and silver) Prove me wrong..... please!
The car looks like this at the moment....
Hope to hear from you guys soon.
Thanks.

Hi mate, I remember seeing your 6R on these forums probably around 12 months ago and still to this day its my favourite 6R GTi on here. It looks awesome in Flash Red and the Black Monza's look stunning!
I like the Mono's above but I prefer what you've got already!!

Agreeing with AJ_7. The way the car is currently is so nice, wouldn't change a thing about it

If you don't mind me asking though, where are you based? Did you get the alloys powder coated? They look amazing!

No mate sure...AJ_7 wrote:If you don't mind me asking though, where are you based? Did you get the alloys powder coated? They look amazing!
I both live and work in Leicester. The wheels were painted whilst they were brand new (un used) you always get a deeper (better) finish if you paint wheels that are brand new. They dont "dip" the wheels and remove all layers of paint and protective coatings like they do on wheels that have been curbed or used for sometime on the road. They just lightly rubbed mine down, repainted and sealed giving the glass like finish with no orange peel.
Hope this helps.

Ah right. Thanks for that. I'm based in Leeds and just wondered if you had them done by anyone within reasonable distance from me as i'm currently looking to get my Boavista's refinished in black
