18" rims

Just a simple Q for today. Can I put 18 inch rims on my little GTI without doing anything special? As long as they are 5x100 ?

yes you can!

with the correct offset, wheel width and tyre you're good!

which wheels you plan to put on your GTI?

I wanted the original golf gti 18" detroit ones, but I saw that they would not fit..

So actually I have no idea xD

They will fit with adaptors...they're 7,5x18 with ET of 51 so you're good...

Only problem is really that they are hard to find here in Norway. Thinking about going to Germany this summer with the lill polo tho. Might buy them then^^

Another question regarding 18" wheels. Would the ride be really bad as you'd need 35 profile? Or would it be similar to 40 profile?

5mm didnt make much difference to me however I did seem to have to replace more of the 35s after hitting potholes (on dark unknown roads) lol. Suppose that's probably down to tyre quality too though.
