Wanting to buy a Polo but lost!

Hi all! New here and basically need some help!
I have a Renault Megane at the moment, caused me complete hell over 1 year and time to get rid. I've been interested in Polo's for a while, however unsure which one to actually go for!
I'm 18 years old, so looking at the 1.2 Match, is this a resonable car?? It's going to be coming from VW themselves, and under 20,000 miles.
Few things really are;

Do they have remote central locking?
Are they as bad on road as the reviewers make out?
Is it a car that'll actually last and not keep breaking down!
