Has anyone got a headunit from abroad.

Post by wul3er »

could someone tell me if a stereo from the US would work here (UK)
This is a quote from the website about the tuner on it:

Tuner
FM Presets 18
AM Presets 6
Satellite Radio Ready Sirius
European Tuning Yes

I think the cd player would work as normal, its also MP3

I recently purchased a pioneer 7600mp from the US and the CD and MP3 work 100% fine.

The radio however can only pick up certain staions. The FM tuning goes up in 0.2's. E.g. 97.3, 97.5, 97.7, 97.9, 98.1 and so on.

You can really pick up a bargain though from the US if your not too bothered about radio.

Thanks for the offer but i already have one.

With mp3 there's no need for radio. Just stick it on random and you can go days without hearing the same song twice.

So what headunit are you looking at getting from the US. :?:

I've got mine from Spain! The major problem of buying itens from USA is that you have to pay a fee when you go get your product from the Custom.

Thats the site i got mine from. Absolutley fantastic customer service. They keep you informed via e-mail of the progress of your order.

Before you purchase, send them an e-mail asking there cheapest way of delivery and how long approx it would take to arrive.

Mine cost £169 including the headunit, postage and the charge for using www.bidpay.com.

I didn't pay a penny for customs and it arrived within 2 weeks.

I don't think i had to pay any customs cause they declare the value of the package or it is sent as a single gift.

The best thing to do would be give customs a ring and ask them :!:

I just risked it, as i couldn't imagine customs being too many £££'s

Sometimes customs screw you, sometimes they don't in my experience. Once got a part for a machine shipped in as they couldnt get em in th UK, and didnt get charged. (Part was £150ish). Got a £750 guitar shipped in and got royally screwed!!
