Can you fit a towbar to a 6R GTI?

I'm looking at getting a track only motorbike so I'm going to need to be able to tow a trailer soon. Can I fit one to a GTI? I've found places that say they do the 6R Polo but nothing specifically about the GTI. Can't fit one to my other car so if I can't do it to the Polo I'm screwed

Yes you can, little modification to the diffuser is needed, see:

GTI is not rated to tow in oz, you cannot legally fit a towbar as the car is classified as not for towing. Check with your authorities over there.

Hope they can else I'm going to have to get another car just for towing a bike to tracks, which probably means one of my others will have to go

Any idea where I can find out if it's rated to tow or not?

Your local roads authority would have that info, they would have the gross vehicle mass, rare weight etc on their systems.

Found a towbar place that will fit a removable towbar for £500 with all the electrics etc. VW dealer said it couldn't be done. Just needs to have a small cut out in the bottom bit of the rear diffuser style thing.

I can get my bike after all then
