The best Coilovers

from those who have owned different coilies, tried and tested them. which from the vast options of cheap to expensive and poor to high quality, which is the best for its price to quality?

I had Eibachs on my GTI.. Pretty damn comfy but we arnt talking comfort as no cars with coils are that comfortable! Eibachs are pretty pricey though.

true... would you say they were worth the dollar? You know how some less known brands do the same job, just as well, but less of a dent in the pocket.

do you recommend any other brands? any dark horses?

I have heard FKs are quite good but never had any experience myself. Eibachs are worth it but if your simply after lowness then you might as well go cheaper!

Paid £650 quid 3years ago for KW variant 1,s and would say they are top notch quality wise, the front struts, threads and springs are still imaculate after being through 3 winters on salty roads, not a mark on them, just give them a good wash down a couple of times a year with hot soapy water.

The rears are getting a bit tatty and will probably get the springs repowdercoated this year and maybe get new rear shocks as they are getting a bit tired.

Ride and comfort wise they are pretty good, better than a set of FK ones i had on when I first got the car, they lasted a year and got binned as they were badley seized and the seals had gone on them. But as already said it aint gona feel like a standard car for comfort but that is compensated by the awesome handling and the car looks so much better lowered.

I have kw variant 2 in stainless and I can't fault them. The ride is probably more supple than standard too.

I've had Weitec Hicon GT, TA Technics and JOM.
Weitecs were best for adjusting, especially after a year or so as there isn't two locking rings it' only 1 with a grub screw.
TA Technics did a job.
JOM, quite impressed with them for £160, but only had the car a month so cant judge on lifespan.
