Spraying side skirts

Post by lee gti 88 »

Hi I'm thinking of spraying my side skirts after doing the plastic trim on the back bumper. My only question is, will it chip off? any one done this before and got any tips? I was thinking several coats of laquer?

Got mine done professionally, detextured and painted gloss black. Been through this Scottish winter and look as good as when they were done.

Spraying side skirts

I take it the skirts are plastic? If so.... Rub them down with 400 grit paper. Give it 2 coats of plastiprime (plastic primer) , then rub the primer down with 1000 grit wet n dry. Then few coats of base coat (colour) then blast it with a good few coats of lacquer. Hope this helps in some way.
