My 2007 polo 1.4 SE, very bad MPG

Post by Oz_London »

Recently purchased a 1.4 SE, and for some reason it's giving me very bad MPg.

If I put in 20 pound petrol I recieve around 70 miles, is this correct or do you think this is bad.

My first time purchasing a polo and I personally think that milage is terrible. I have took the car to the local mechanics and they put in the a diagnostics machine but nothing has appeared.

Do you think something is wrong with my car and how much millage do you receive by MPG or 10,20 pounds worth.

Cheers guys
Hopefully I can resove this problem.

Your talking about ~25mpg there. That's not great. What kind of driving have you been doing? Town? Spirited?

you need to get a proper mpg figure, not just saying £20 gets 70 miles etc.

report back with a proper figure by brimming the tank then doing a proper test and we may be able to help.

If you say £1.34 per litre that will give you 15 litres which is 3.3 gallons which works out at 21 mpg,a bit rough, mine does 40 mpg...

Sounds like something is up, although it'd be far more accurate to fill a full tank. Are those motorway miles?
