VW rear spoiler

hello ppl.
how much does the VW dealer charge for fitting and painting for a VW rear spoiler on my Polo 9n?

they sell it for Â£135 and i dont want to pay over Â£200 for it

hey i had a caractere spolier fitted, cost about Â£150 juss to spray and fit, very expensive business!!!!!

i had my spoiler painted at the dealer and then i fitted it myself. it's very easy to do, there's a manual that comes with it and it takes about half an hour or so.

I'm affraid you'll still probably pay over Â£200 unless you find some where cheap (really cheap) to spray it or find cheap paint to do it rous self

and if your lucky enough to find one on ebay. I've only ever seen two Votex spoilers on ebay for the 9n. One of which never sold (think it was relisted so i actually only ever saw one spoiler on ebay) and the second time i bought it VERY lucky at Â£20, even then it cost me Â£150 to get it fitted and sprayed this was done through family though. Was quoted around Â£220-Â£230 to have it sprayed and fitted!!

Obviously it'll be cheaper if you can fit it your self

how is the spoiler fitted?
glued? screwed?

it's glued. you take out the 3rd brake light, glue the spoiler on, tape it to the body for the glue to dry properly, wait for a day and then fit the brake light in its new place. the spoiler comes with everything you need, including a manual, glue, cleaning agents and new attachment clips for the brake light.

I thought it was screwed where the brake light was and glued round the rest of it!??

Any how talking of DIY jobs my friend glued his Renault 5 spoiler on to his Renault 5, mmmmm nice black glue in places

but for him it wasn't such a bad job considering

there are two screws but they hold the brake light in place. the spoiler is held by a very thick black glue, and if you mess up and the glue is all over the body it is quite easy to clean once it is dry. (i know from experience

the spoiler comes primered, ready to be painted. mine stayed at the dealer for two days so it should be around that.

i can't say much about the price, labor here in turkey is much cheaper compared to UK. would be better if you phoned your dealer
