Hey mate seen this vid on youtube, it shows you how to pop the boot. Looks like you need Vagcom or something??jamesagordon wrote:Did a bit of research and rather than getting a popper I'm gonna swap the air struts with the ones of the scirocco (£30 off ebay for a pair) these pop the boot open and allow you to just keep your normal key and do it with the boot button on there

cheers man, $110 for the kit though! You can get a popper installed for about £30

£30 sounds better like, would you still need to change settings on vagcom??jamesagordon wrote:cheers man, $110 for the kit though! You can get a popper installed for about £30

I don't think you need to change any with the video set up you showed me - its just upgrading the gas struts to more powerful ones
And you definitely wouldn't need vagcom on the boot popper as its an after market part so it's not integrated into the manufacture key or anything

spent 5 hours cleaning the car today. Cleaned, clay bar'd, polished, waxed (inc wheels and underside of bonnet) all the insides done too, staying in the girlfriends garage until Sunday for GTI now

folded in haha, I had to detail it in the garage as the weather was crap so there wasn't much room to manoeuvre!
