Clutch Problem

Post by kenny.l »

Hi Guys,
i was wondering if you could help me because my car has been off the road for over 2 weeks. The problem is a bracket behind the clutch pedal has broken and my Vw dealer said the part has to come from Germany cos no dealer has it in britain but they said it could take weeks.the bracket is called "Brake and clutch pedals cluster" the part number is 6n2 721 115 B.I have a polo 1995 an its a 1.0. If anybody can help it will be great.even if its a second hand one.

Cheers Kenny

Kenny - I feel for you mate. I had the same problem with my GLX

I think the dealer's telling you porkies about the availability of the part. Have a look in the Polo GTi section about the pedal boxes.

You really should put a new clutch in as IMHO this is the root of the problem. The bracket it weak, granted, but breaks because the clutch operation is stiff.

Speak to another dealer about getting the part. They've got 3500 GTi's to sort :P

that does sound like an odd number for a 6N model. Maybe you should ask vagparts to see if they can get it in for you?
