Hey guys,
so i had a driver side speaker problem almost a year ago, where a rattling sound came from the speaker on bassy songs or songs with treble. I took the car to the dealer, waited 3 hours to be told it was a faulty speaker and i needed to book it in again to be replaced.
Now coming on 6 months, the same problem happened again, i took the car back to the same dealer, even same service person who now says that the speaker is fine, its the driver unit inside the door panel that vibrates and there is nothing they can do. Upon questioning the service-man even went so far as to tell me that EVERY polo will have the same problem.
Now i'm fairly convinced the persons just fobbed me off to save themselves a warranty replacement. He said if i take it to someone private and they find something wrong they will replace it.
I was wondering then, if anyone knows how to get access to the driver door speaker so that maybe i could have a look myself?
Also, has anyone else suffered from this kind of problem?
P.S. Sorry for the long post!
Suspected faulty speaker
Re: Suspected faulty speaker
Maybe you have the bass setting to high and the volume to high and blowing the speakers. They are only 20 watt units
Im thinking of changing the front speakers and fitting an amp.
Re: Suspected faulty speaker
I had the passenger side replaced under warranty at the first service. At first they said they couldn't hear it but to be fair it wasn't always obvious. I played a bit of music till we found the right notes a bit of acoustic bass guitar had it rattling for fun. They rebooked it and replaced it no problem.
I had considered maybe I had blown the speaker myself as I do like to wake myself up in the morning.

The bass settings ive always had is 0 because i had a sub fitted in so all the bass comes from there, so i dont think it would be that!CANDYMAN wrote:Maybe you have the bass setting to high and the volume to high and blowing the speakers. I quite like the alternative method of waking up as opposed to coffee you have there ShaunShaunpg wrote:I had the passenger side replaced under warranty at the first service.
