mk4 golf struts on a 9n3? help!?!?!

hey guys i dont know if this is true or not , i dont wana make a move unless its true but heard that if i was to go for lower struts (air lift suspension struts) i could get mk4 golf struts for my polo 9n3 and still fit , only thing would be getting rid of drop link and stuff like that

can anyone help or confirm this ?

the reason for this is that airlift do NOT make airbag struts for a polo at all the only people around who make quality struts for polo 9n3 are bagyard...which i do not intend to spend that amount on until the mk1 golf comes into my hands but still ...
