beam height adjuster broken :S

One of the beam levelers in my driver side healight doesnt seem to work anymore.
Headlight works but cant adjust the height of beam.

has anyone had this problem before? and can it be easily fixed?

On what car?

Based on a 9n I'd assume:

Headlight out,(bumper and grill off first) unplug motor, test for voltage. Check mechanism is free to move, not jammed up etc.
If mechanism is free, and volts present,but there's no movement, it's time for a new motor.
If there're no volts, check switch, then cables.

if it needs a new motor how much will i be looking at? It's ok for now but i know it'd fail an mot
