9n3 gti coolant leak

Got a coolant leak on the gti, not sure where at the mo.

Are there any common places they tend to leak from?

Read on here a lot before about a joint at the bottom of the radiator that cracks, new rad time though if it is

I had the leak as stated above

Luckily the garage I got the car from paid for the work that I did and also the labour I put in the invoice

Didn't get a VW rad tho, still cost £70 and is fairly easy to change

Yep more than likely leaking from the rad. Happened to my gti and my friends Ibiza 1.8t. All I can say is it was a pig of a job. Ends up with your car looking like you've wrote it off.

Yeah mate

Get under it take the tray off should be pretty wet by the n/s bottom connection might aswell make a start and drain the coolant out while ya there lol

Seems a hose is weeping at its connection with the electric water pump.

Nothing serious fortunately.

Happened to my GTI aswell. Needed a new rad though, luckly covered under warranty......
