Pesky Problem

Post by Pedro_Hilario »

Hi,

I have a problem in my Polo that is really annoying me.
Everytime i use the door pins to close it a clanking noise comes from the boot, it lasts about 30s. The sound is like we hear when we lock the doors.
This would be fine but during those 30 seconds the pins wont move up or down, meaning the door wont open or shut ( central locking).

I went to the boot and after fiddling with it I found the sounds comes from a little piece in the right storage compartment of the Polo. It has a white cover and it has both VW and Hella written on it. Part Number 1H0 962 257 D

I'm thinking it's something electric, but if anyone had this problem or even knows the price to repair or get a new piece ( i'm guessing it's the central locking pump, but i don't know).

Thanks, Pedro

This IS in fact the central locking pump, I just checked. The part has been replaced with another version (ending on J instead of D) and costs around €190 (about 120 Pounds) new. So, as long as it functions - keep it.

Thanks Speedlaw

For 190 €uros i can live with that noise. Perhaps I'll try to take it to the electrician to see if he can fix it.

chubbster - Luck didn't help us with Greece. I can't even think about it, it was so close!!!
