What alloys and coilovers?

Post by Jordi »

Hi all.

Want to know which alloys will fit MY09 TDi Polo. Want a straight fit from the current wheels which are 195/55/15's. Could I go 16's, with what size tyres? Used to have Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2's on my old Clio, so wouldn't mind these again, but perhaps try something too. Any recommendations on alloys that suit the Polo 9N3?

Also, what springs/coilovers would you recommend? I'm not after anything too expensive as TBH, it's never going on track or anything. Just for looks/handling really. Found some 50mm springs on ebay, but with the name of 'Lo Springs' wasn't sure how good they were? Anyone shed any light? Also, how low do I need to be looking at going to get a nice stance? e.g 60mm on 15's, 50mm on 16's?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jordi.

Could go for TT comps 17" they are a popular option for 9n3s,

Collies could go for cheap German eBay ones like ta technix, or go for something like fk coilovers for a slightly better ride

The ones you linked in my other thread say the listing has ended, so they are no longer selling them it seems. Which is a shame.

Do you know anything about this 'Lo' make. They seem to do cheap coilovers/springs just not sure if anyone has any reviews on them?

I can't find any of these 'lo springs' other than for a beamer? You got I link I can look at?

To be honest though mate of you are gunna lower on springs I would go for the eibach pro kit, or H&R they would be about £150 and I think it would lower about 30mm depending what kit you went for.

Or if you want real lows you would need to go for coilovers, my mates got budget ones on his 6R and there fine, really crashy but they do the job as well as mine,

Well firstly theres these I found

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PROSPORT-COIL ... 2320824f97 - only go down max of 50mm though on the rear, is this enough?

And the 'Lo' ones I was talking about here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-POLO-Mk4-9 ... 2eb69c56bb

They both say they fit the 1.4 TDi so I guess any will be ok?

Cheers mate.

both look fine for your car, but it all depends on how low you want to go, if you really want to deck it though i wouldnt suggest budget coilovers due to how crappy the ride will be

Don't want it impractically low, just enough so the arch is just above the tyre, about 50/60mm?

Is there anywhere I can get a photoshop done on here, want my standard alloys done lime green and lowered as said.

Top man, any of these pics is fine, lime green wheels (standard ones on now) and lowered just so the arch is sitting slighty above the tyre wall.

Not sure about that now, maybe because the tyres are dull. Any chance you could do another one with the silver wheels lowered?
