Reverse Light goes out when Clutch is lifted

I drive a Polo 9n3 and basically whenever i'm reversing the reverse light will come on (clutch pressed to the ground), then whenever I lift the clutch and start moving it will go out. The light then comes back on once I stop moving and the clutch is again pressed to the ground.

i know this is bring up a really old thread, but does anybody have a solution to this ?

could be the first signs of a broken wire at the plug on the gearbox - the vibration from the movement breaking the connection. Just a thought - it's an item that's prone to failure.
