new to polo's

Post by helipolo »

Hi guys n girls
I'm new to polo's and picking up a S reg 1.4 8valve(cheap as chips and nice looking just engine probs) next week and was looking for knowing what model its is and some advice ,all i know at the moment its blue with blue tail lights and side repeaters (been told this was factory fit ,not sure on this ),the advice needed is that the aux belt snapped and has been replaced but the car won't start could this be a case of the cambelt jumping due to the aux belt snapping and if so can I just reset the timming or would there be damage to the valves

Well found out why its not running, stripped it done to check the timing and found the aux belt
Had wrapped its self round the cambelt tensoner,so redone the timing ,took the rocker cover off and turned the engine over to find two bent valves ,so it wil be off with the head at the weekend, how much should I pay for head gasket set and valves
