Rear Wiper.

Post by Wolfi »

Hi guys,

We have a 62' reg Polo Match in Candy White. It is fantastic a Vdub and are really pleased with it. We are now onto our second 6r in a row!

But, a little annoying noise came from the rear wiper.
It was scraping and juddering, as it went it went across but still moving at the correct speed.
There is nothing out of the ordinary on the wiper arm and still works correctly, but sounds really annoying and does not look right when it moves across.
The wiper blade itself is fine and has no dirt on it as it was washed the day before. Plus, its only four weeks old so cannot be worn out.

Cheers Guys, any advice would be much appreciated!

I would personally take it back to the dealer as its so new it's not worth messing about with!

Having had another look at it at a different time,
its clear to see that either the rubber of the wiper blade is too hard
OR,
we simply need to put some glass cleaner on the window.
But you guys are right about the dealership, just not had time as it's not a huge headache.
Cheers!

Try putting some carnauba wax on the rear window, and cleaning the wiper blade with some White vinegar mate. Probs got some tree sap or something on there thats creating friction between the two. This makes the blades bounce accross the windscreen. Hope that helps.

Yes, thanks for the advice guys.
Defo will try some of these methods in the future!
But for now, the wiper has decided to work correctly again!
Cheers!
