How many miles should i be getting

Post by muj123 »

Acquired a 9n3 recently, a 1.2 s i believe its the 64bhp version?
my question is what sort of mileage should i be getting
as i recently filled up £46 and have only got 300 miles out of it?
I mean, is this right?
My old car which was a 1.4 6n2 used to 400 miles to a tank and that needed its rocker cover gasket replaced!

Sounds about right for the 1.2. They are not very frugal at all. My gti with 200hp managed similar miles to a tank.

Issue with the 1.2 is you have to push it hard to get it going.

Ah the main reason why i sold my old polo was to save money on fuel, looks like im going to be facing the same issue.

Sounds about right to me. I mean, £46 to fill the tank doesn't seem a great deal in all honesty. My 1.4 TDi takes £58 to fill and does 460 to a tank. So another £10-£12 to fill, which would get you what, about 70 more miles in the petrol?

Just goes to show how much a bigger engine helps with the fuel on long motorway journeys

Mt GTi is Stage 1 and I can get 400 miles out of a full tank of V-Power (£60ish)

Although that is driving like a saint and sitting at 57.5 MPH with cruise control on the motorway

Did you install your cruise control yourself and buy it in a kit?

Yes mate, I bought the kit from Kufatec and fitted it myself

There is a guy on here who sells them fully fitted for £150 if i remember correctly, if got for that if he is still doing them as the kit is £80 and they are a bit of a pain to fit!

Think it was MODDED9N, but iv not seen him around for a while
