I have been doing some research and apparently the 1.4 16v 100bhp came with the option to have 15" Spa alloys; so perhaps mine is a 100bhp version after all especially as the engine code is stated as AUB. It doesnt have the 16v 100bhp alloys on for a start, though does have the correct interior for a 100bhp model albeit some 75bhp models came with this.

As it is a 'rare' version of the Polo what price would people expect to pay for one of these as I purchased mine for £1250 with 88K on the clock and is in excellent condition and includes lots of features such as electric windows, alloys, fogs, air con, four disc brakes etc.
To be honest I'm glad it doesn't have the 15'' Spa Alloys as I don't really like the look of them as they look a bit too chavy for me. An update of minor things I have done to the car
• I have changed the rubber around the aerial as the old one was corroded and looked terrible. Brought a new one from Car-Masts-UK via their Ebay store http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400134137298? ... 532wt_1037. Although it is only a small detail it definitely makes a difference.
• I have been to the scrapeyard (Lucky to have one so close to where I live
• I have managed to fix the glovebox. After doing some research I found out that it is a common problem and I found this site which shows how to fix the glovebox without buying the whole thing itself. http://www.crazy-polos.de/cp/Handsfg/Handsfg.htm All you need to do is brake the handle off and open the glovebox (the only way to get in), then take out the mechanism that opens the glovebox. You will then be able to go to a VW dealership and order part number 6N0 857 131 C C81 for about £16 pounds and simply push it in place along with the lock cylinder.MJS_93 wrote:Although the car is in a good condition the glove box doesn't open and it isn't locked; it just won't open. Future Plans
• I have been looking at getting a new set of number plates as the front one is scratched and ruins the look of the car. One thing I have seen is the Black 3D Gel Resin plates from Demon Plates often referred to as 'Domed' plates but I am not sure if they are legal even though the site is selling them as road legal plates. Has anybody else got these type of plates and are they legal; I know the metal pressed ones from Dubmeister are sold as legal but I don't really like the look of them although I will consider them as an option as it will improve the look of my car.

Surely as they are the standard UK Legal font then they aren't difficult to read or identify and I am not sure if that is referring to the the flat 3D looking font (if you now what I mean) or 3D resin that actually sticks out• It is an offence to rearrange them to make them look like names or words or to alter them in any manner that makes the vehicle registration number difficult to read or identify.
• Characters on a number plate can be 3D, providing they meet all the other requirements, but honeycomb or other background patterns are not allowed.
• When I have got a bit of spare time I am planning on going to the scrapyard and picking up a foglight for the drivers side as the screen has a slight crack on it although the light does still work but it will make it look a lot better.

An update of minor things I have done
• I had to change the door lock barrel for the drivers side as it would only allow the tip of the key in and wouldn't turn. After using the passenger side to lock/open the car for the weekend while I worked I took it to VW and they said some w****r has tried to break in by sticking something in there such as a screwdriver and damaged the barrel. In total it cost me £83.52 to fix as I had to buy the repair kit as well.
• I went to the scrapyard in search of a drivers side foglight to replace my cracked one but there wasn't any available. Thinking of buying online as the majority are between £15 - £25. However before I do does anyone know how much VW will charge for one?
• Just added my Carbon Fibre badge inserts that I brought from Hotwire Graphics for £4.49 via there Ebay store http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160891521398? ... 631wt_1037. I didn't fancy painting the whole badge black as I think it looks better chrome especially with the carbon fibre inserts which make a massive difference as it hides the hideous weathered plastic. The pictures don't really do it justice due to the poor light as I was in my garage but I will try and take a better picture later.

• I have replaced my cracked driver's side fog light with a new one from Magnum Vehicle Solutions for a total of £29.05. This was after going to VW where they wanted almost £80
. Easy to replace and done within 5 minutes.
• I have fitted my Audi TT pedals and I'm very pleased with the way they look. I haven't got any pictures at the moment as the battery for my camera is dead but I'm sure you know what they look like.
• I have ordered a Carbon fibre style VW steering wheel insert from Ebay for £3.49. It is from Hotwire Graphics; the same company I brought the rear carbon fibre inserts from so I know it will be high quality and look good.
• I have changed the front brake discs & pads as they were in a terrible condition. Only replaced like for like as I don't have the money to spend on high performance brakes; although due to it being a 1.4 16v 100bhp I had to get the most expensive set. Can't moan about it though as brakes are essential; especailly with the way I drive
. I also brought some blue caliper paint but it isn't the right weather to do them at the moment so that can wait.

Update of minor mods I have done to the car - Sorry about the dodgy pics but it was getting dark when I took them. 
• Just added my Carbon Fibre badge inserts for the steering wheel that I brought from Hotwire Graphics. I think it looks good and rather sporty. It also goes well with my rear badge which has carbon fibre inserts installed.

• I Got the footrest fitted looks quality and adds a bit of class and sportiness to the foot well as it compliments the Audi TT pedals. Only took ten minutes to do but changes to the inside so much.


Future plans
• I am considering buying a GTi grill. Instead of the GTi badge I am thinking of a 16V badge; this will work well as I have the 100bhp version which is supposed to have the 16V badges on it so it will suit the car as well as the 16V badge on the back. What is your opinion on this
. I haven't seen any with the 16V badges on a GTi grill; do they fit or does it look better plain
