4 bar FPR?
So at what point do I need a 4 bar FPR? I'm pretty sure I need it for stage two but if I put it on now will it add performance? Less mpg? Need mapping in? I don't really know about this mod much... Sorry guys.
Re: 4 bar FPR?
I wouldn't mind knowing this awsell, and how needed is it, if at all?

Re: 4 bar FPR?
That ones really dictated to you by your tuner mate. Some say with stage 2 you don't need it others say you do such as GIAC.
I have a Custom Code stage 2+ tune and run the 4 bar reg plus an upgraded fuel pump. I didn't really need them until I changed from the Forge FMIC to the SEAT Sport. I started leaning out quite bad even with the 4 bar reg so then added a APR in tank performance fuel pump and it's all good now. My guess for that is more flow and less pressure drop meant the need for more fuel but the stock pump couldn't meet the demand on the top end of the power curve.
Anyway have a chat with your tuner for what's best for you

Any flames with a good sports cat aha?
Re: 4 bar FPR?
Just a wee bit of proof
And you need a de-cat for the noise!!

Re: 4 bar FPR?
AWESOME video
Ive never been that keen on a decat... is it not 'too loud'? not get pulled by the police ha?
4 bar FPR?
Still got the silencer out? I run a stage 2 with a 4bar and a decat and mine doesnt shoot flames
Re: 4 bar FPR?
like said before above, depends from tuner to tuner.
i have milltek with sportcat, seat fmic, k&N filter, turbo tip en TB hose, 007 diverter and when i got it custom mapped it would not go higher than 220Hp on the fly.
so conclusion, it was not getting enough fuell and injectors were running at 100% capacity (wich is not good)
got it back to "stock" mode after that untill i got injectors or 4bar FPR.
i got the 4bar FPR wich works fine now, injectors are still running high but do-able at 85% or so.
and now it is pushing out 240Hp at the flywheel.
but i do stress that a 4bar FPR is NOT the best solution for this.
best way to solve this is still bigger injectors.
because raising pressure comes along with more temperature, more temp means slightly less good combustion.
it's noting to worry about but when you take it out on track you can sometimes do more bad as good when things get TO hot,
so keep in mind that with a 4bar FPR you are asking 4bar fuell pressure but youre fuell pump can not give that in theory, so it will go over it's limit to keep up.
and like i said you are raising the pressure so heat will get involved also.
best way is to keep it at 3bar and use bigger injectors, more expensive but 100% safe and nothing to worry about.
hope it helps

Re: 4 bar FPR?
ps @ Drennan: driving catless does not mean automaticly it will shoot flames.
this also depens on the remap.
it's simple, it you want it to shoot flames you ask youre tuner to let it run a bit more rich.
most tuners do this because its safer to run more rich as to run more lean.
if it's rich it will shoot flames because the fuell that is injected that is to much must go somewhere and it can only go true the exhaust.
if it's to lean you won't have a good combustion and you have a good chance of killing the engine.
cars that are tuned on a dyno also run more rich when they drive on the road afterwards.
a friend of mine with a ibiza cupra has it remapped for the track, bacause it mostly drives on a circuit.
and his tuner programmed it so that it will inject fuell longer as neccacerry to cool it down more.
but this gives a result of flame shooting like a pro

Re: 4 bar FPR?
That certainly does help
so what injectors would you suggest?
Re: 4 bar FPR?
that also depends on what set up you are running and what youre future plans are going to be...
TT225 injectors are good enough for if you want to keep the stock turbo etc.
and i think they can also be used up to 300Hp... but not sure of this, need to look it up to be sure
but if you are planning bigger turbo you will automaticly need other injectors but it depends on what set up you are going to run.
it's pretty logic that 450cc injectors can not be used with a GT35 or so

Re: 4 bar FPR?
Hi just been reading up on the 4bar fuel pressure regulators as have one on my car along with a re-map and a decat pipe k&n and a few other bits it pops big flames or so I have been told off people following me I was just wondering iff I got the tt225 injectors will I need them mapped in aswel?
