Polo DUNE - seen on the road :)

On the way into work this morning I spotted a metalic blue Polo Dune but from the rear I had no idea what car it was, until I pulled up along-side it.

Damn, it's a smart looking motor, the jack'd up suspension and grey new styleee bumpers are great.

Result is: I WANT ONE, but'd prefer more power, think I'll wait till the facelift, hopefully they'll put the PD 130 in it

For interest, noticed on the VIN of the one in my dealer, that it's manufactured in the Bratislava (Slovakia) plant ("D" in the VIN number), rather than the Pamplona (Spain) plant ("Y"). Hopefully that's a good sign of things to come.

Also - it comes with the VW MP3 player! Hadn't noted that on the write-ups. But no split rear seat, oddly for a "lifestyle" vehicle. Plus, they really do need something more than the 1.2 in it. And a slightly different design of wiper arm (odd?!) - same aero wiper, but now with added metal bits at the connection btwn wiper arm and blade...

But otherwise, nice! Raven Blue... Drool...

1.2: 0-62 = 16.5 seconds
1.4: 0-62 = 14.3 seconds
1.4TDI: 0-62 = 14.7 seconds

So in Summary Compared to the standard Polo:-

It's looks like about as camp as a suzuki vitara
It's got pants performance
It's got worse handling thanks to the raised suspension
It gets worse MPG
And it costs £3k more for the 'priveldge' of having all of the above

So where do I sign up for one....
