P.s. it isn't clearing after running the headlights for half an hour or more either...
FED UP OF THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT FOGGING!
FED UP OF THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT FOGGING!
Is anyone else having problems with only the drivers side headlight fogging up inside? I'm fed up of it, I've dried it all by hairdryer until all of the fogging went, then left it infront of a lit fireplace for 16 hours... I then threw in two bags of silica gel inside the unit and made sure that it's all sealed correctly, I have made a hole in the rubber seals for the HID kit but the grommet fits in very snugly. I don't know what else to do!
I think that it maybe an actual fault with the unit as I've seen at least three other Polo's with fogging in the drivers headlight only.

Re: FED UP OF THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT FOGGING!
Hi James
Had problems with mine a little, but mine are Xenons and they're known for it, not just on Polo's but you'll find most cars with Xenons have this as supposedly the units aren't entirely sealed as they need to ventilate due to the voltages involved with Xenons and temperature build up.
How much of that is true I'm not sure and I don't know if same applies to normal headlights without Xenon? I know my Golf Mk6 headlights when I had those out had little 'C' shaped rubber breather hoses so they were definitely vented. My Polo's xenons fog up after being out in the car for a while, but if the xenons are on it dries it all out, and when my car is sat still after a run the drivers side headlight does indeed fog in the lower left corner but it clears after a few hours if its in sunlight.
Might be worth a trip to the dealer though? Maybe you do indeed have a faulty headlight where the main seal isn't doing it's job if you're having that much of a problem. You certainly don't want green fungae growing in there because of a severe fogging / damp issue.
Hope that helps? Ben

Re: FED UP OF THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT FOGGING!
Hi Ben,
Thanks for your help, I took the unit out again and it doesn't seem to have any breather pipes fitted to it so I don't think that it's helped by that either? The xenons I am running are the 35W version so it can't really be a heat issue so unless the seams are faulty and letting water in then there it nothing other than a replacement from VW. It isn't just fogging, theres actual water molecules inside the unit so I think a trip to the dealer is needed.
heard stories that they will do anything to get out of a replacement.
