Post by Ant168 »

Hi guys,

Was casually drivin on the way to work, everything was fine until about 5mins into my journey my car kicks out 2 major splutter (similar to a fuel cut)...as i carried on my journey i have no power and max revs is limited to 5k. Anyone in the north/eastry london area have a vcds i can borrow for pint money or experienced something similar?!

thanks,

Thats likely to be the camshaft timing sensor. Its to the right under the engine cover

Common failure - about £40 to replace.

Thankfully, it just unplugs and is only one allen bolt to remove it :)

Sounds identical to what happened to mine a few years back.

New camshaft sensor sorted it out :)
