Standard camber angle?
I've just had all my suspension out for a bit of an overhaul including an ARB drop link (other thread last week). The obvious problem now is with all the best will in the world to mark up the hubs and struts, it's not right now it's back together. So, my question, what is the actual camber angle? F1 tyres by me claims 0 degrees. A VW Audi tuner says minus 1 deg. They all want £70+ so I've just bought my own Gunsons track and camber kit so it's DIY from now on as I've got 3 cars. It'll save me a fortune over time!

Re: Standard camber angle?
When I did mine Autodata said 0 - 1 degrees of negative camber on the fronts is tolerable. So i think mine are at about 0.7 degrees each side. You then have to re do the tracking as that will all be messed up

Re: Standard camber angle?
Cheers Endi, my tracking is way out too since I've had it all apart. The steering wheel is well left when I'm going staight atm!
The negative camber I have atm makes it great around bends but so unstable in a straight line and the traction is complete sh!t

Exact Specification tolerances for the GTI are:
Front:
Min= -0.83
Max= -0.17
Rear:
Min= -2.00
Max= -1.34
Let me know if you need Caster and Toe.

Re: Standard camber angle?
They pull to the left as standard if you let go of the wheel but only subtly.
Standard camber angle?
Pull to the left slightly to allow for road camber I believe?

Re: Standard camber angle?
Correct Ben
Also a safety measure so should you fall asleep, you are less likely to steer into oncoming traffic

Re: Standard camber angle?
My Mk5 Golf goes straight on the same bit of road though?
The Polo had tyre wear on the inside edge of the near side wheel yet my tracking kit says its toeing in. Any ideas? There's no play in any part of the suspension.

Re: Standard camber angle?
MK5 golf has a completely different steering rack by design - My Edition 30 is the same. Polo pulls to the left if you dont hold the wheel, but the golf doesnt. Just one of those things

Alex, no play in wish bones or ball joints as far as I could feel. I'm thinking duff shock perhaps?
