Possibly returning to VW

Post by vivid white »

Hi All,

Just thought I would pop by and say hello.

I am currently driving a RenaultSport Clio 197 and have been looking for something to replace it with for a few months. I recently came across the 9n3 GTi and really liked it and the potential it has.

I owned a 2000 Polo 1.4l a number of years okay and at that point I always said I wish I could have owned the GTi.

Anyway went to have a sit in one at the weekend at Available Car and really liked but even though I thought the dash was a little boring (compared to similar aged cars like the Corsa VXR etc) but you see VXRs everywhere now and I have hardly ever seen a 9n3 GTi around where I am.

Just wondered whether anyone has any negatives against them OR positives for that matter!? Hopefully I will be around for awhile now and own a GTi as soon as I can sell mine or part ex.

Thanks
James

Why the change may I ask? I came from a Clio 182 to my Polo.

I guess if you wanted more power then it has more capabilities, but on the fun front, you won't get better than the Clio.

Hi,

Basically I absolutely love the Clio its a fantastic car and a lot of fun but it's just time for a change and I do not see the point in getting the same car again just a little younger. Might as well try something new.

Am I right in saying that the steering wheel can be changed for a Golf GTi one? Is it an easy change?

Thanks
James

The mk5 GTI wheel is a straight swap I believe, and if i'm not mistaken the mk6 gti one needs very slight modifying to the clips or something?

Eitherway I'm pretty sure the mk5 one will fit and looks cracking :D

Not actually seen one on a Polo but it looks like a lot nicer steering wheel. Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.

That looks mint. Not too OTT either and does look in keeping with the style of the car.

Thanks for the picture. Growing to like the Polo more and more as I look round the forum.

On another note I really want a Candy White Polo but they are either really rare and not many were built/sold or very popular and not sold on very often.

Which is it?

Thanks
