Re: Cornering lights ?
I have an SEL with cornering lights and there is only one bulb in the light fitting. They do not use a different light body for cornering lights. The blue motion has a different fitting because it uses them for DRLs.
Hope that helps, it's only a £35 option so I would think that it's just a setting change.

Re: Cornering lights ?
Ditto the above from BlackSEL~ this info is spot on
When I first saw my SEL that I had ordered with cornering lights at the bottom of the options list
I thought that they had been left off because the brochure shows two bulbs when it mentions cornering lights
They give an extra pool of light in the direction your about to turn into if your stopped at a junction
or turning into a drive at a slow speed ~ good for curbs etc. but as you straighten up they go off
Just the same as a fog light gives a low down light that doesn't reflect back off the fog as a head light would
If your moving at any speed your on the patch of light before you can view it and spend the time looking further ahead
A different bulb might add more light but I think I have bleached out my cornering fogs by fitting Osram night breaker plus
into the headlamps ~ a good simple mod done in the first week
If your ordering from new just go for it, but I wouldn't bother retro fitting them if you can ?

Re: Cornering lights ?
Thanks, if i built the car then i would have added it, this was a built car that was new but obviously built so nothing could be added, TBH i expected it to be like my old Golf and just code and work, but it doesnt seem to happen unless you need to be moving to see it.
Re: Cornering lights ?
182_blue and any others of you ~
You don't need to be moving to activate the cornering lights
but you do need to have the headlights on dip and not just daylight running lights of the ignition
A bit of turn of the steering off center to one side will bring them up on that side
as will a positive click of the indicator stalk but not a three flash quickie
There could be an extra fuse for the added cornering lights or maybe a bridging wire
We have paid £35 for something, so it's not much

Re: Cornering lights ?
Has anybody actually added this themselves then ?
