So, my wife's Polo has the standard BBS wheels but in need of refurb.
What are they worth as is and what would they be worth refurbed back to factory OEM condition?
Value of BBS RXII?

Re: Value of BBS RXII?
Depends on their condition really as ones that can look like they need refurbing can vary from looking pretty good to totally awful! Some people have split them themselves, then hand polished up the lips themselves, and got the centres re-painted which works out fairly cheap. A full refurb will generally be £180-400 depending on where you go and how good the job is, but I'd say most places will charge around £240-320 for 2 piece split-rim wheels.

Re: Value of BBS RXII?
About 5 years ago (before the financial meltdown) I paid £130 for a set of 4 with no tyres and in a poor condition off fleabay. There were no chunks missing out of the rims but completely covered in surface corrosion (centres too). I reconditioned them myself which worked out at about £60. They're still sat in my garage now as I have some old Beemer E30 winters and the original BBS RX2's for summer!

Without tyres in good condition its anywhere from £150 to about £200 these days. I sold two tidy sets for £175 over the summer.
Re: Value of BBS RXII?
Thanks - seen around £150-200 on average.
Unless its DIY refurbing or a case of being adamant you want originals and willing to pay for proper refurb - I dont think its worth doing. Can get a semi decent set of wheels at around £220 and then just keep those instead - sell these off as is.

15" wheel and tyre packages are cheap as chips in Halfrauds for example nowadays. People want 18" plus. As you say, it's keeping the original wheels that'll probably cost you more. Personally I wanted the original wheels as I don't like the aftermarket look. My winter E30 wheels and tyres were only a £100, I could sell them on for that if I need to
