What wheels can i fit on my 9n3? sizes widths etc

I'm looking at getting some new wheels (brand new) for my 9n3
so far i've not had much luck with wheels as they've either been too far inside the arch and looks gash or they poke right out and i have to fork out to get my arches resprayed.

I'm thinking of getting keskin kt1's but not sure if i would get away with 9j rears with them being 16" which would mean 7.5j all round but i like the staggered look.

Does anyone have any suggestions for sizing for my polo eg, size and what width limit with certain et's

Sorry to be a blagger but if i'm buying brand new i want to make sure they will fit right

i have 17" 8.5j with ET38 OZ Superleggera's ready do go on.
but i'm planning to put a 205/40/17 on it to create a litlle stretch.
when i just got them i have tried them under my GTI and the wheel is not poking out, it's just in a straight line with the wheelarch.
i have some pictures of it but i have to look for them.
