Overheating problem just wondered if this could be the fix

As far as im aware yes. The thermostat needs something to push against otherwise it cant open properly

Thermostats on the Mk4s have a habit of failing

Also, the waterpumps are prone to death, as are the radiator channels becoming blocked.

Changed the thermostat and temp sensor pump seems to be working got flow through top pipe on header tank
But top hose seems hot and bottom seems warm could this be blocked a rad fan switch don't seem to be working so I've been bypassing it so its always on can't seem to get the right part from eurocar parts

Bottom will get hot at around 94C to let the water recirculate

Go to VW. They'll get it right and the quality will be much better

If I have the heater on it stays around 70 if I turn it off it rises to about 100 and keeps rising tons take rad out the weekend and have a look see
as for the bridge thing I thought it was only on the 1.4 coz of the weird shaped thermostat
