Alternative O/S wing mirror?

After some complete to$$er in a corsa decided to wipe my O/S wing mirror out this morning I've been doing some hunting for a new part.

Question is, does a Mk4 golf/bora mirror fit?

My motor still works and it folds in and out ok so all I need (cheapest option) is the cover and a new heated glass.

I would go down the stubby route but they're going for stupid money! Also if I get a pre painted MK4 golf cover, is it diamond black on them?

Polo ones are readily available on ebay etc.

So same cover but a different base/body?

I've seen black covers on ebay for about £16 posted but it was only listing the Mk4 golf.

Someone on here must have a spare who's done the stubby conversion?

Yeah I can't afford a stubby one so it'll just be a standard O/S mirror glass and cover.

From the dealer, primed, the covers are only £20ish

Might be easiest to buy a cover from the dealer, and spray it up yourself

Looking at the part numbers, the small mk4 golf one should fit the stubby polo base, but the larger mirror wont.
