Key costs what?

Only got 1 key for my car so called up my (not very) friendly VW dealer to see how much another costs (need 1 for parking while i'm on hol), so here's what they said.

1 Basic Key (no frills) Â£45
1 Programming that key to the car Â£44.06

So thats a total of Â£89.06 for a basic key! Apparently they come pre-cut from the factory, so why can't they progam them to the car?

What a rip-off, I think I'll go without thanks...

For a SEAT flip key...
Â£32+VAT for key
Â£32+VAT for the remote
Â£27.50+VAT for programming.

You can probably get a remote one or a flip one for that price!
