Inspection light after fitting cat back

Post by lee gti 88 »

I fitted a Milltek cat back exhaust on friday and yesterday coincidentally 12m on from my last service at Awesome (to the day) my spanner inspection light came on.
My car had been displaying during ignition on, "3400miles to next service" so I found it strange that the light had come on? :?
My question is, could I have caused the light to come on by fitting the exhaust or does the annual service light work to the day?
I drop the oil and filter every 6 months but don’t reset any lights, I had been doing some “spirited” :D driving since the exhaust which I know does drop the service times much faster I just find it a bit strange.

Its no coincidence, nor is it to do with spirited driving.

Your polo will be on time and distance servicing and as you say 12 months have past since it was officially serviced then you have answered your own question.
