hello all,

I am trying to find the right kit or parts to fit my car to allow me to open the boot from my remote...now i am not talking about just unlocking the boot or even unlatching it...i am talking about pressing the button on the fob and the boot openning all the way...

I have seen it done on youtube and am tring to find a way to set it up on my car....

any help is welcome...oh and by the way here is the youtube link so you see for yourself what i am on about...dont know if i am allowed to put this up or not ???but here it goes

hello again,
ok....found it.....
For all those who have an original vw boot open button on there key fob...you will need to sort the system out with a vag-com.

but if you have an aftermarket alarm (like mine...Clifford)then all you need is the struts below...


ford mondeo mk2 93-00
dimension
553 overall length
drop length 200
rod diameter 8m
shock diameter 19
force is 560 newton

now compare those with the original polo struts

polo 9n3(like mine)
dimension
500 overall length(not a problem as the length only opens as far as you need)
drop length 200
rod diameter 8m
shock diameter 19mm
force 400 newton

the ball joints on both are the same as the polo too...so it should be a straight swap.

let me know what you all think..now dont go buying these and stick em on your car....let me do it first and ill let you all know the outcome.

I believe that you can also do it with Fabia struts and Scirocco bump stops, but you still need to find a way of getting the latch to remote release. Otherwise you're just standing next to it as it opens itself straight into your face...
