Just noticed your post reference the pressed plates too, either dubmeister or eBay mate.
Got mine for the GTI off dubmeister but my Civic plates were from eBay

i got my pressed plates locally from devon dubshack, but they get them through dubmeister, they just needed my document ref numbers to send to dubmeister so i dont see why you'd have to send the actual documents off, i'll ask the guy that done mine and see if i could sort yours out through him if you like?

Yeah Dubmeister need the paper copy of your driving license and the cars V5 if I remember correctly
Bit O.T.T but it's due to legal requirements, the guys on eBay just don't care and send them out without asking any questions

Yess Went ebay in the end. Can't believe I didn't really think about that before, or maybe I thought it wouldn't be that simple.Joycey wrote:Beauty, got there in the end
Just waiting for the surrounds to arrive (and the rain to stop!) before I get these on.
Re: Tom's 6N2 GTI Progress Thread
I haven't updated this in a while so thought I'd share the couple of bits I've done recently.
Finding it very difficult not being able to wash the Polo at the mo, it's filthy. It's a bit too cold though and nowadays as soon as you've cleaned it, it gets dirty again!
I was intrigued hearing about these 99. relays. I didn't realise that was something that could be done. I've thought many times before how frustrating it is that the intermittent wipers have their own set time and how much I've wanted to change that before, so thought I'd invest. Managed to pick one up on ebay for about a tenner.
After what felt like taking half the car apart I finally got it fitted. Had to drop down the bottom part of the dash, like some of the guys said on here. Even if I had small hands I wouldn't have been able to get the 19 out anyway as the relays, I found out, are held in with clips too.
Pretty pleased with this, so much more helpful when it's raining now.
Also got around to fitting my pressed plates. Probably the cleanest part of the whole car at the mo!

Re: Tom's 6N2 GTI Progress Thread - Offset
Can anyone give me a bit of advice on offsets.
What exactly does an offset of 25 mean?
I'm looking at some new rims that I want to fit to the Polo. Also, do you guys know the offset of the standard BBS RX2s?
Thanks!

Re: Tom's 6N2 GTI Progress Thread
The standard offset of the polo is between 32-38, this website tells you the standard offset on any vehicle www.carsalter.com,
Offset is basically the measurement in mm of the distance from the centre of the wheel to the mounting face, so if your looking to buy wheels of the same width as yours but with a 15 offset you'll get about 20mm more poke than the standard wheels, if you space the wheels out then the offset reduces, this site will help you see how new wheels will sit www.willtheyfit.com just put in all the details of your new and old wheels and you'll see how they will sit against your old ones

Re: Tom's 6N2 GTI Progress Thread
Thank you very much for the reply bud!
The main reason I asked is because I was looking at some Borbets with an offset of 25. Wasn't quite sure how much of a difference this would be.
Think I've got them just right though
