Hi there I have just brought a new engine to go in my 6n2 polo. It is the same engine that will be coming out due to being run dry of oil.
It is engine code AHW.
I'm pretty confident with changing the engine over but not sure about the imobiliser. I fear I may have a problem when I come to start the engine. Can anyone tell me were the immobiliser is situated? And can I get away without having the keys recoded etc.
Any help much appreciated!

Re: Engine change help?
The immobiliser is situated under the dash, but it is all coded in to the ECU
You only need to swap the physical engine - keep the ECU and immobiliser etc from your existing setup and you wont have any problems.
