Re: Mandy's GTI
Well..... March was going to be the month I started getting things done on the car. Wheels, sides smoothed, boot smoothed and a few other bits.
Then this, absolutely gutted

4 car pile up, me 3rd along. Very front car slammed their brakes on after someone pulled out on them. Causing the three of us behind to crash aswell. The front driver then drove off!!
Have the Police coming to see me tomorrow. So angry!!!!!!!!

Gosh what a bugger - I'd be wary of the insurance claim process - with the Gtis value having dropped so much in recent times they are in danger of being written off for small amounts of damage

Sorted. Guy at the back has admitted liability.
Just waiting for them to come and look at the car, they said it might be written off because of the age though (not happening).
Been told I didn't actually hit the car in front until i was hit and pushed into it. All happened so quick i thought i had lol.

Right if they said it may be written off i'd be very worried as now days insurance companies have taken advice from institue of british insurers which states they should not allow the customer to buy their written off car back from them. I assume this is due to them clamping down on the amount of CAT cars on the road or something.
Just thought it was worth a mention- I spotted this change in my policy documents. Your insurer may be different however.

No mannnnnn! I will not let the bloke write it off! Geordie charm is definately worth a try!
If it does, everything will be transferred to my other Polo and we will have a re-incarnation!
I'll see what they say, if it has to be written off because of some moron i will be playing up this whiplash to the extreme!

From the pictures it's just front and rear bumpers, shouldn't write it off at all. Plus the little pieces, when mine got revearsed into by a cement lorry my repair bill was £1350. So you should be ok ha...

Chin up Mandy i'm sure you will get the GTI fixed up and back to its former glory
Damage doesn't look too bad, new front & rear bumper but insurance companies are swines these days.
If it is written off then see if you can buy it back and sort out the bumpers, should be fairly cheap to get a new set.
Bumpers look worse because smoothing essentially weakens them so when the filler cracks it always looks worse than it actually is.

She'll be sorted soon, like nothing ever happened!
Someone is coming to look at the damage on Tuesday morning so fingers crossed.
After looking at them we reckon the bumpers can be saved, splitter may need replaced but not too sure yet. Doesn't look like any damage to the radiator aswell so hopefully all will be good
