256mm rear brake upgrade

Post by rover220 »

got myself a set of 312mm and 256mm calipers and carriers for £75!

will be fitting the 312mm fronts but is it worth fitting the rears do you think....is there any real gain to doing so?

256mm rear brake upgrade

Post by sam_vw »

I wish someone could pass a few of these bargains my way haha. I have the 256 and 312 setup. In fairness it is great stopping power, VWindahouse I think mentioned it can be twitchy when pushing on and I agree now after having a spirited drive with them on! Bit twitchy. I still think when I get things sorted with suspension etc it will be a worthwhile upgrade.

Ps Gti or v6 4motion set up on rear?

i was offered them for £50 but felt bad at them being so cheap so settled on £75

my just do the fronts then and sell the rears to make the fronts free

You'll be happy enough with the front upgrade along dude! I have the v6 set up, had to make spacers to get them to fit. And they still 'moo' if you go to sell give me a shout. Might just swap to the 2wd set up for ease
