Re: Questions about 6r GTI. Remapping. Intake and exhaust
Thanks a lot people big help. Hopefully will have GTI in June. Will get my thread up as soon as I get it. Would it be better getting stage 1 map first or exhaust system. Or does it not matter

Always fit the upgrades first, then have a proper custom map to make use of the bolt on's.

A good tuning company should be able to provide an easily adaptable tune. Contrary to hurdy's comments, the school of thought here is that upgrading the radiator is a waste of time as the coolant temperatures seen on stage 2 cars (even in +35 degree weather) do not pose a threat to engine performance or longevity. If you are looking at stage 2, consider your torque value rather than ultimate power. You will be looking at ~350nm which is right on the upper limits of wha th clutch packs can handle. You will need to consider a DSG tune as well for the computer to stop fryin the clutches.
Also, if you are looking at a new GTI, bear in mind that nobody has been able to crack the latest iteration of the med ecu coupled to the CTH engine to be able to hold a tune.
