Getting more low down power from 8v

Post by mk4ads »

Hey

I'm just wondering if theres anything i can do to get more low down power from the 1.4 8v

Once around 3k revs its not too bad but 1.8-3k is really hard work, which makes it really difficult for overtaking :(

Im just wondering if anyone knows of anything that can be done such as changing the gearing? changing the optimum rev range, cams and pulley? chip?

Im unsure, but i dont really want to spend more than £500!

Im going to do little things like clean the TB's to get a bit better throttle responsone

Anyone any ideas for my budget please?

Thanks

Adrian

shift down a gear then overtake.

i would go for an performance exhaust. dont go for induction kit, some are proven to lose power.

At the end of the day, u arent gonna make the 8v very quick without using forced induction.

Best leave it and get a 16v in there.

Do you mean panel filter replacement?

Because if your talking about a cone filter then it aint really value for money cos your spending money and losing power.
