Knocking

Post by GTi_Red »

Knock from middle front of car when pulling off, accelerating and letting off so its when the weight is shifted forwards and back wards, its not a suspension or driveshaft knock.
What do we think?
Dog mount bush?
Cheers

My thoughts are engine mounts, dog mount bush or top mounts but I want to see what other people can suggest
It's really frustrating as its getting loud

I'd look at rear front wishbone bush(es) or top mounts.

If it was a dog bone problem, it would clunk on acceleration & deceleration.

What air filter do you have?

My K&N started knocking against the suspension mount when the engine naturally rocks, fixed its position and now its sweet

Took me weeks of pulling my hair out before I finally realised what it was

I have a K&N and thought about that so moved the mount around so it can't knock I'm sure it's dog mount but will find out by the end of today
