Feul gauge problems

hi ive recent brought a polo mk4 1.4 8v s reg and the feul gauge wouldnt work so i removed every fuse and replaced them when i started the car the feul gauge kept flickering and was showing signs of working but when i drove it down the road it was reading empty again and yes there plenty of feul in the car any help would be great thank you rob

Check all the engine earth straps as a start. Most fuel sender problems are due to a bad earth.
