Retrival of SKN

Hi,

I don't have the SKN and key number tags that were originally shipped ( I think they were anyway) with my Polo 9N3.

I know that VAGCOM will not retrieve that. Does anyone know of a device to retrieve the immobiliser PIN from a 2007 (07) plat Polo ?

By the time I bought a 9N Polo new in September 2002, VW had stopped supplying that information with the car. Its either dealer only, or something like VAG Commander(?) or another tool which I think I bought but have forgotten the name of!

Sorry, that should have been VAG TACHO. The correct "word" is SKC - secret key code - stuff "VAG secret key code SKC" into Google.

Yup I have read that Vag Tacho can do it... but I see references for version 3.01 which seems to claim works up to the 2004 models but doesn't mention anything beyond.

So wondering if anyone with a 9N3 has the code and can confirm which version fo Vag Tacho they used, or indeed any other software/box

I had a key recoded by an auto locksmith, they told me they had a few programs that do it (I'm guessing they've found the code to do the key). It took them a few attempts to get it to work and had to try a few different types of software they had, the guy told me one of them was over £20k to buy but it ended up being one of their cheaper programs that managed to do it..

May I ask why you need the code?

I want the code so that I can program my own keys for the car

Have you had a quote from an auto locksmith? Most come out to you and don't care if you provide the key, they will just code them in for you

I haven't yet - and that is what I will do if need be, however woudl liek to explore DIY options first
