You can however if the conversion is worth higher tax and they find out you will be in trouble

Plus, if you crash and an insurance assessor comes out and finds that the engine size doesnt match the chassis, your policy can be deemed null and void.

Engine and chassis dont need to match.
As long as its insured correctly itll be fine. Ive been there and done it.

Sorry, I meant engine size.
It ultimately deems your insurance void, as the details on the V5, which the MOT is applicable to, isnt valid.
