Im about to go look at a polo gti and was just wondering if there is anything I should check for, any common problems I should I know about?

On 06 plates you can get a crunching syncromesh on high rev changes in 1st and 2nd. That has been reported to be solved with a certain decent gear oil though.
On all polo 9n/9n3s the front wishbone rear bushes wear easily, but the chances are you'll upgrade them even if the old ones weren't worn for handling improvments
